Loic Ader is a French-Irish technologist with four decades of experience building IT companies. From delivering cluster computing to Microsoft and Autodesk in the late 90s, to founding NetCine (acquired by Pathé Cinema), to growing Netprof to 500,000 YouTube subscribers — his career has always been driven by making complex technology accessible. Today, through loicata, he builds free, open source cybersecurity tools and provides security consulting services — all dedicated to microbusinesses.

Born in Paris.

1984
First computer — an Aquarius — and started programming in Microsoft Basic.

1997
Founded NTI — first company to build Windows NT + Intel clusters. Delivered a cluster image calculator to Autodesk (3DS Max 1.2) at the Micad 1997 trade fair.

1998
Delivered two clusters to Microsoft for their test lab to work on WolfPack, which became Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC). Microsoft produced a video about NTI to promote the technology.

1999
Delivered servers to ISDNet (Cable & Wireless).

2000
Founded NetCine — sold to Pathé Cinema in 2002.


2001
Conducted streaming tests with CNET (Orange R&D) to validate the feasibility of implementing a VOD cinema service on Orange’s future ADSL network.

2005
Founded NetProf.

2019
At the EduCom conference organized by YouTube in London. Netprof reaches 500,000 subscribers.

2026
Google Cybersecurity Certificate. Founded loicata — free, open source cybersecurity tools for microbusinesses.
